April 28: Workers' Memorial Day

April 26, 2021

On April 28, 2021, the nation will recognize Workers' Memorial Day. This is the day we pay our respects to those who lost their lives on the job, and recognize the impact these tragic losses have on families, co-workers, and communities.

It is recognized by OSHA that more than a year into the pandemic, every day essential workers, many of whom are people of color and immigrants, have put their lives on the line during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many became ill or were killed as a result of simply going to work — for doing what they had to do to support their families. There will be many memorial events taking place across the country both virtually and in person next Wednesday. Click here to view a full list of events to pay respects.
