Baltimore Center Stage Celebrates Women’s Equality Day

August 28, 2020

“Forward through the Darkness, Forward into Light.” — A rallying cry of the Women’s Suffrage movement

August 26, 2020 marks 100 years since the amendment for women’s suffrage (ratified on August 18th, 1920) was officially certified. We celebrate this day as Women’s Equality Day! In celebration of Women’s Equality Day and in recognition of the complicated history of the 19th Amendment, Baltimore Center Stage invites you to enjoy this video of Tracie Thoms performing We Are All Bound Up Together by Frances Ellen Watkins Harper from BCS’s Civic Programming event last week The 19th: Whose Vote Is it Anyway?

Fun Fact: Baltimore Center Stage's Director of production is USITT Board Member Cary Gillett!

You can watch the rest of The 19th: Whose Vote is it Anyway?, Baltimore Center Stage's event celebrating and interrogating the history of the 19th Amendement, here.
