The Collaborator Party Returns for Sixth Year to Celebrate Return of Live Theatre

June 8, 2022

The Collaborator Party, headed by co-founders Lindsay Jones and John Gromada, as well as co-hosts Gérman Martinez and Sadah Espii Proctor, announced that their event will return for its sixth year in New York City, after a two year hiatus because of the pandemic. The Collaborator Party is the official Tony night party for the entire theatre. This year, the main party will be held June 12, 2022 at The Brazen Tavern (346 W. 44th St. in New York City) from 7pm-11pm EDT. See the full video invitation for this year’s event below:

The Collaborator Party began in 2015 as a response to removal of the Tony Awards for sound design, and quickly grew into a nationwide grassroots community that was founded in mutual celebration of everyone working in professional theatre.

Now, as live theatre celebrates its biggest night at the end of a very difficult time, The Collaborator Party returns to thank all theatre workers for their incredible resilience and collaboration under unprecedented circumstances.

“The Collaborator Party has always been a thank-you party,” said Jones. “From the beginning, it was about showing appreciation for everyone’s hard work that makes theatre so special. But this year is really different. We want to thank everyone for their teamwork and support as we all worked together to bring live theatre back to audiences. This achievement happened because of the hard work of so many people who may not be recognized by an award, but were absolutely essential to making every single night of theatre happen. We're eternally grateful to be part of this community of people and proud to celebrate all that they do.”

The online social media component of the party will continue this year and online attendees are encouraged to visit www.collaboratorparty.com to download this year’s sign to take photos and videos with, and share on social media.
