Energize your audience with DAP’s new NRG speakers and subwoofers

November 30, 2023

DAP’s new NRG series consists of passive and active speakers and subwoofers that combine great sound with a lightweight design. The passive models are perfect for permanent installations, while the active models are ideal for mobile applications. Both versions offer speakers with 8”, 10”, 12” and 15” woofers, while the subs have 12”, 15” and 18” woofers to choose between.

All of the models in the NRG series benefit from lightweight plywood cabinets that make them easy to transport and install. The cabinets have been carefully constructed to ensure durability and strength with a professional-grade polyurea coating offering additional protection. Each speaker cabinet has two 35mm diameter pole mounts, one set at 0° and one set at 5°, making it easy to position the speaker at the best speaker angle for your situation. In addition to pole mounting, each speaker has three M10 mounting points that make easy rigging possible. The subwoofers are equipped with an M20 mounting point that can be used to mount a speaker on top using a speaker pole.

The active NRG speakers are all equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and feature True Wireless Stereo. This allows you to leave the cables behind and still stream from any Bluetooth device and enjoy stereo sound by connecting two NRG full-range speakers wirelessly. The active speakers also have dedicated mic and line inputs with XLR/jack combos and independent volume controls, making it possible to play different sources simultaneously. The active NRG speakers and subwoofers both have built-in DSP presets too. The subwoofer presets optimise the sound for the NRG speaker you are using it with, while the speaker DSP presets offer four different modes that can be selected at the push of a button.

  • Contour – this mode enhances the frequencies that are lost with music streaming services and wireless connections and is ideal when using the speaker without a mixer
  • Speech – this mode enhances the frequencies used by the voice for clear, intelligible speech
  • Flat – this mode offers a linear frequency response and is ideal when using the speaker with a mixer
  • +Sub – this mode filters out low frequencies, optimising the speaker’s output for use with NRG subwoofers

For extra protection during storage and transportation, durable covers made of water-repellent Codura are available for the entire NRG range.
