Instagram Rigging Contest Promises Epic Prize Packs

USITT is excited to announce the start of a joint contest between USITT and Loos & Co., Inc. Cableware, a member of the Institute and a USITT 2020 exhibitor specializing in rigging equipment!
This Instagram-only contest is meant for theatrical departments at the university level and will have three separate winners for a first-, second-, and third-place price. First place will receive a $5,000 credit toward Loos & Co. Inc. Cableware tools and hardware, second place will get a $2,500 credit, and third place takes home a $1,000 credit. All prizes will be awarded to the university that the individual who submitted it is enrolled in.
To enter, post a video up to two minutes showcasing rigging in action and creatively solving a problem with the rigging (If your video goes over one minute, upload to IGTV). Once your rigging video is created, simply upload to your Instagram account and use the hashtags #rigginginaction, #locoloc, and #USITT20, and tag @USITT and @looscableware to qualify your entry. Those who enter must also be following @USITT and @looscableware.
The contest lasts until April 1 and winners will be chosen by a jury who will pick the most creative video, so use your creativity! The jury is made up of industry experts who will be voting to determine the top three videos.
Terms and Conditions
The contest runs from Feb. 1, 2020, to April 1, 2020. Students enrolled in a university theater program are eligible to enter and must say what university they are enrolled in within their post's caption. Winners will be informed via Instagram direct message and will then be announced on USITT's and Loos and Co.'s social media channels. The time period the winner must respond and claim their prize is 30 days from the announcement. Videos may be accepted or rejected based on contest rules and each company's discretion.
