USA Local 829 is offering an online session covering masks, shields, and distancing that takes place on September 29, 2020 from 3:00 – 5 p.m. EDT and is led by instructor Monona Rossol, M.S., M.F.A., Industrial Hygienist.
It begins with a brief review of OSHA regulations for respiratory protection devices that actually are documented to provide protection. It then morphs into the peculiar world of lesser forms of PPE and face coverings for protection from the SARS-CoV-2 virus droplets and aerosols. The session covers all kinds of masks, shields, distancing, strategies that work, some bogus practices and products that don’t work, ventilation and air purification, disinfectants, and sanitizers, and more. Somehow out of all of this confusion, a way forward can be seen.
