MEGA-LITE at the George Strait Benefit Concert ‘Strait to the Heart’

August 11, 2025

In early July, a devastating flash flood caused by intense rainfall, amounting to over 10” to 12” in some areas, resulted in the Guadalupe River rising more than 35’ in under an hour. This created one of the deadliest inland flooding events in recent U.S. history. At least 108 people lost their lives in Kerr County alone, many of whom were children. More than 2,000 structures were damaged or destroyed, leaving families displaced and traumatized. The flooding also severely impacted local economies, especially in small towns relying on tourism, which faced canceled bookings and lost revenue long after the waters receded. For many, the aftermath was marked by profound grief over the loss of friends and family.

On Sunday, July 27, the benefit concert Strait to the Heart took place to support the victims of the recent floods that affected the Texas Hill Country. This event marked a significant step in the ongoing recovery efforts. MEGA Systems Inc. was honored to support this meaningful occasion and enhance its visual impact. Country music legend George Strait, along with special guests, delivered a moving performance, complemented by a variety of MEGA-LITE lighting.

The devastating floods profoundly impacted the Texas Hill Country, where MEGA Systems is based. In honoring those affected, the concert provided a moment of unity and strength, bringing people together not just for entertainment but to stand in solidarity with their neighbors during this challenging recovery period. This event reflects MEGA Systems Inc. and its brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting productions that unite communities in times of need. By supplying adaptable and reliable lighting technology, MEGA Systems Inc. contributes to events that not only entertain but also uplift and support the communities they serve.

Special thanks go to George Olson from GP Productions and Gabriel Rodriguez from AV Shop for their assistance with show logistics, as well as James Nealy and Victor Lugo. Without their support and that of George Strait and his friends, we would not have been able to support this event on such short notice.
