The 2025 Midwest Educational Technical Theatre Symposium (METTS) hosted by the USITT Midwest Regional Section will take place July 25-27, 2025, at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.

METTS is a weekend of training sessions for K-12 educators, including Certified, Staff, and volunteers who work with students in a technical theatre capacity. This event is specifically targeted to support and improve the skills of those training the next generation of technical theatre professionals.

METTS sessions cover a wide array of industry topics and are curated to train participants on the basics of technical theatre. Experience instruction from industry professionals during sessions like Counterweight Rigging Training and Designing a Flexible Reperatory Light Plot to Sound Design: From Recording to Tech, How to be Flexible and Adaptive, Patch & Play: The Joy of Fabric Transformation, and more!

Need a place to stay during METTS? Optional housing is provided on-site at Millikin University and may be added during your registration.
