Midwest Educational Technical Theatre Symposium (METTS) Brings Skills Training to Educators

The 2025 Midwest Educational Technical Theatre Symposium (METTS) hosted by the USITT Midwest Regional Section will take place July 25-27, 2025, at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.

METTS is a weekend of training sessions for K-12 educators, including Certified Staff and volunteers who work with students in a technical theatre capacity. This event is specifically targeted to support and improve the skills of those training the next generation of technical theatre professionals.

METTS sessions cover a wide array of industry topics and are curated to train participants on the basics of technical theatre. Experience instruction from industry professionals during sessions like Counterweight Rigging Training and Designing a Flexible Repertory Light Plot to Sound Design: From Recording to Tech, How to be Flexible and Adaptive, Patch & Play: The Joy of Fabric Transformation, and more!

Need a place to stay during METTS? Optional housing is provided on-site at Millikin University and may be added during your registration.

Member: $150 plus housing
Non-member: $200 plus housing

*Housing is available Friday. 7/25-Sunday, 7/27 for $40/night. Attendees must provide their own bedding for a Twin XL bed.
