Nothing More Drummer Ben Anderson Finds AUDIX Microphones Unstoppable On The European Festival Circuit

August 27, 2025

Nashville, TN – Nothing More, the critically acclaimed band known for their intense, high-energy performances and innovative stage presence, has just wrapped up a successful European festival circuit, where they played in front of hundreds of thousands of fans in 15 cities across 9 countries, including the Download Festival in Castle Donington, United Kingdom and Rock am Ring in Nürburg, Germany. Drummer Ben Anderson uses the AUDIX D6D4MicroDSCX25Ai5ADX51, and f9 microphones exclusively for these demanding live performances and his intricate studio recordings. He finds them “spot on” and “unstoppable,”  especially in a rock setting.

Anderson’s preferred AUDIX setup is meticulously chosen to capture his powerful drum sound. He relies on the AUDIX D6, as his “go to kick drum mic,” noting “it's unstoppable, especially for rock.” He positions the D6 “centered in the kick but slightly ahead of center.” An additional D6 is used on his 18" floor tom, while an AUDIX D4 captures the 16" floor tom. For rack toms, he utilizes two AUDIX MicroD which “pop great and are very discreet looking.” His overhead sound is achieved with a pair of AUDIX SCX25A microphones, which he describes as “fantastic” and “also instrumental to my tom sound,” providing the “body” while the MicroD offers “direct mic attack on tom hits.” AUDIX i5s are employed on both the top and bottom of the snare drum. Live he chooses the AUDIX ADX51 for his ride and hi-hat, but in the studio he chooses the AUDIX F9, though he admits that “the overheads often capture most of what he needs for these in the studio.” Anderson also shared that “our front of house engineer recorded every live performance from the sound board using AUDIX microphones.”

Anderson’s loyalty to AUDIX stems from years of positive experience. He first noticed AUDIX microphones while working early in his career at Mind's Eye Digital Studio in Phoenix, finding they made it easy to get a great drum sound. He emphasizes that for him, the AUDIX D-Series mics “just are spot on” and believes that “AUDIX mics point everything in the direction that you want to go and do a lot of the work for you. In addition to their great sound quality, I love their durability… they don't break even if I accidentally hit them.” He also values their customer service, noting, “everyone is so responsive and friendly.”

Following their European success, Nothing More will be performing at the Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival in Ohio and is set to embark on a headlining tour of Europe in November, followed by a U.S. headlining tour from January through March, which will conclude the “Carnal” album cycle. Anderson confirms that the band is “developing a new show that incorporates more of the new album and builds it into a full show experience” for these tours. After the tours, Nothing More will shift focus, returning to the studio to work on their next album.

In addition to Nothing More, Anderson also relies on Audix to channel his diverse musical interests into his creative outlet, Without Sleep, a project that allows him to “explore sounds without adhering to typical genre rules.”  Without Sleep released an EP during COVID and will soon be releasing a new single that they recently finished mixing.Ben Anderson's commitment to sonic integrity and his trust in Audix microphones underscore the brand's position as a leader in professional audio, supporting artists like Anderson and his projects Nothing More and Without Sleep in delivering their impactful sound to audiences worldwide.
