USITT21 Virtually Anywhere - Day 3!

March 10, 2021

Welcome to USITT21 Virtually Anywhere Day 3!

We're half-way through the week and have tons of content, sessions, speakers, and events to look forward to!

Sessions begin at 11 a.m. EST today so make sure to look at the agenda in the morning so that you don’t miss any education that you’re interested in!

The afternoon begins with our Women in Theatre Roundtable at 1 p.m. EST. This past year has had an enormous impact on women in the arts.  Who is more of an expert on that than all of us who have lived through it?  Please join us for discussions and connection as we share our experiences, hopes, fears, and well-earned wisdom with each other in the networking event that empowers and inspires each year.

Our well-being hour is a twice-as-nice today consisting of “My Job is My Gym” at 3 p.m. EST followed by meditation at 3:30 p.m. EST.

Even though our industry was shuttered for most of 2020, many of USITT's industry partners and innovators never stopped working! Join us for a USITT fan favorite, the New Products Showcase, beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST. Our exhibitors will introduce new and upcoming industry products and technology! Featuring products from Vectorworks, Sawyer Creek Artistry, Kroylan Professional Make-Up, ReSet, Protech Rigging & Automation, and ShowBuilder. Be sure to stop by and visit these and all of our Industry Partners in the Expo Hall!

After our New Products Showcase commences, head over to our virtual Expo Hall from 4-7 p.m. EST. Come meet and network with today's industry leaders, top educational institutions, and potential employers at USITT21 Virtually Anywhere Stage Expo! View our full list of USITT21 exhibitors.

Pro Tip: Stop by the Vectorworks booth and scan your badge today for a chance to win a $100 Amazon e-gift card by 6:45 p.m. EST!

Production! game play begins at 4 p.m. EST and will run until 6:30 p.m. EST. If you would like to play, please email info@usitt.org with the time slot you’d like to play!

The evening starts off with our second keynote speaker, Marc Winski, taking the virtual stage at 7 p.m. EST (doors for this event open at 6 p.m. EST)! Be sure to get there EARLY for an exciting announcement from the USITT Fellows!

INSPIRE is tonight’s theme. The USITT Annual Conference is a place to find the fire within you. To remind you of why you work in the arts.

Tonight, Marc Winski shares his story of being a professional performer who stutters. What was once something he tried to hide is now what he is known for. Hear his story and find the inspiration to bring your authentic self to your work.

Round out your evening with the North Coast Hip-Hop Improv Comedy Show at 8 p.m. EST!

Join us as beatbox meets freestyle meets live improvised comedy! North Coast is New York’s premier hip-hop improv comedy team. North Coast’s explosive performances have been packing comedy venues, universities, and festivals nationwide since 2009.

Built around a single suggestion from an audience member, the show’s improvised scenes escalate into full-blown hip-hop songs, facilitated by stupefyingly talented resident beatboxers.

With their seamless melding of comedic timing and freestyle rapping abilities, North Coast frequently blurs the line between comedy show and concert, drawing audiences from the comedy, hip-hop, and theatre communities for an experience that has been hailed as “mind-blowing” and “next-level” by critics and audiences alike.

Named on of the “Top Ten Best Comedy Shows” by Time Out New York, North Coast has been featured on Vh1, inSlate’s Podcast “The Gist,” The Village Voice, and The New York Times Comedy Listings. This event is produced in part by Granite Live.
