Three days of interactive training with a collective of our industry's most illustrious trainers and companies is now available at no charge for a select group through the inaugural USITT Training Ground. Hone your skills by working with specialist trainers. There is a strictly limited number of persons who can be accepted into this program. To apply to participate in this inaugural cohort, make certain you meet the requirements outlined below. 

Those who specialize in audio, lighting, automation, projection, wardrobe, or stage management will get up close and personal with entertainment experts from Cirque du Soleil, TAIT, Meyer Sound, Christie Digital, and ROBE Lighting.

Who can apply? This training is open to junior and senior college and university students, recent college and university graduates, and Early Career USITT Members.

Deadline to apply: Monday, Feb. 5, 2024. Applications submitted after 8:00 AM EST may not be accepted.

What will I need to apply:

  • Select your two areas of interest from the following list: Audio, Automation, Lighting, Video Media Server Programming*, Projection*, Stage Management and Wardrobe.
  • Resume
  • Headshot
  • Written response to the prompt "Why should you be chosen for this Intensive Training Opportunity?"
  • Written response to the prompt "What are your special skills or qualifications?"

*Up to eight applicants may be selected for the “Projection” area of interest; with four to be allocated to Video Media Server Programing, and four to ‘Projection’.

Location and Cost: There is no charge to apply nor tuition to participate if you are selected. While there is no cost to apply, they are required to join USITT as a Student or Early-Career member. Those selected agree to provide their own transportation to the training city, Las Vegas, home of Cirque du Soleil's Resident Show Division. If selected, you will be responsible for the cost of lodging. This cost is approximately $62.50 per night, double occupancy (if you share with a roommate). Single rooms will be approximately $125 per night. These rates do not include tax. Applications for scholarships to assist with transportation and housing costs may be available
