What You Will Do

Live Entertainment Advanced Development (LEAD) is a research and development studio tasked with identifying and developing pioneering artistic talent, emerging technologies, and bolstering the future and best of live entertainment in our parks globally.

  • Supporting the LEAD Team through various phases for advanced development projects

  • Assisting the Art Director in the creation of concept art, storyboards, photo-bashing, etc.

  • Assisting the Creative Directors and Producers with the development of treatments and/or creating presentations to further design, pitch concepts, and flesh out ideas relevant to various projects

  • Organizing brainstorms and fulfilling creative assignments which may include research, creative summaries, treatments, presentation boards and digital presentations

  • Coordinating and attending meetings with LEAD, Entertainment Production and other teams and participants

  • Supporting various production events, such as mockups and work sessions

  • Contributing to the development and execution of presentations and meetings

  • Providing research supporting projects and presenting findings

  • Gaining a deep understanding of the role of Live Entertainment in Parks and Resorts by visiting and touring the parks, participating in customized learning sessions, and becoming an integral member of the team

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Working knowledge of design and aesthetic understanding

  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • A self-starting demeanor and flexibility

  • Critical thinking, using decisive reasoning to determine the best course of action in any research

  • A basic knowledge of the performing arts industry, specifically theater or immersive experiences

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and confidential information in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Keynote, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word and Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in theater or event coordination, preferably outside of an educational program

Education

  • Currently enrolled as a Senior, recent grad or Grad student earning a degree majoring in Illustration, Animation, Communications, Digital Media, Design, Writing or related field

Required Materials

  • Portfolio (must submit a pdf file of your best 10 pieces of artwork as well as a URL link on resume; no other submission formats considered)

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines

  • Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week; possible nights and weekends) for the duration of the internship

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025

  • This internship is located in Glendale, CA; candidates should be receptive to providing their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship
