What You Will Do

Live Entertainment Advanced Development (LEAD) is a research and development studio tasked with identifying and developing pioneering artistic talent, emerging technologies, and bolstering the future and best of live entertainment in our parks globally.

  • Supporting the Creative Producer, through various phases for projects

  • Assisting Production Team with estimates, schedules, presentations and other production documentation

  • Coordinating and attending meetings with Entertainment Production teams

  • Providing assistance in supporting the development and execution of production process including tracking of financial status, reporting on progress against schedule and managing consultant and vendor efforts

  • Supporting various production events, such as mockups and work sessions

  • Contributing to the development and execution of presentations and meetings

  • Providing research supporting the development of projects and presenting findings

  • Gain a deep understanding of the role of Live Entertainment in Parks and Resorts by visiting and touring the park, participating in customized learning sessions, and becoming an integral member of the team

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • A self-starting attitude and willingness to try something new

  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling and contracting

  • A working knowledge of the performing arts industry, specifically theater or immersive experiences

  • A diversity of work experiences and skill sets which reflect a broad range of management competencies.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines

  • Strong leadership and partnering skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and confidential information

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Keynote, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and some proficiency with Adobe programs

  • Experience in theater, immersive or event coordination, preferably outside of an educational program

Education

  • Currently enrolled as a Senior or recent graduate with a BA/BFA in Producing, Production Management, Event Management, Theater Management, or related field

  • Preferred Education: Earning or completing a MFA/MBA/MA degree in Stage Management, Production Management, Event Management, Producing or related field

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines

  • Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week; possible nights and weekends and holidays) for the duration of the internship

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025

  • This internship is located in Glendale, CA. Candidates must be receptive to providing their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship.
