Responsibilities include serving as the Assistant Technical Director for the Performing Arts department. The ATD will work on productions, shop and tool maintenance, load-ins and strikes for student performances, and stock management. Expectation is for 40 hours of work/week, including occasional evening work to cover technical rehearsals, performance weekends, and all strikes for shows.
• Build, install and strike scenery for musicals, plays and dance performances.
• Maintain two scene shops on campus - help with tool repair and maintenance.
• Working with students of various skill levels in both educational and supervisorial roles. Includes construction in the shops as well as load-ins and strikes. Will schedule and supervise load-in and load-out of props and scenery for student productions from our storage facility.
• Proficiency with AutoCad, able to create cut-lists from draftings, rigging, carpentry and metal working skills.
BS, BA or BFA in related field and 1 year experience required.
3 years of professional shop experience in theatre preferred.
