Wenger Corporation is actively seeking an Automation Design Engineer who resides in or near either Owatonna, MN or Syracuse, NY. As an Automation Design Engineer you would create engineered solutions for New Product Development through deployment of controls hardware and software.

At a minimum, you’ll need:

- Bachelors degree in relevant field
- Five (5) years of experience working with PLC software, HMI software, and electrical systems design
- Three (3) years of experience writing C++ code; experience with other relevant industrial languages will
be considered
- Proven experience with various industrial communications protocols such as Ethernet, Profibus,
Canbus
- Demonstrated Project Management skills and experience

It’d be great if you also have:

- AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical design software
- Music or theater background or interest

As an Automation Design Engineer, a typical day might include:

- Developing and maintaining theatrical automation/motion control system including software, system
architecture and components, and mechanical product integration
- Developing and maintaining safety system(s) suitable for theatrical motion control
- Debugging and testing software
- Developing standards for integration into project specific designs
- Assisting in custom automation projects
- Completing system life-cycle maintenance including product design changes, material changes
- Interfacing with legacy and new automation platform communications
- Following proper safety protocols including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
- Identifying nonconformities and initiating Corrective Action Reports and Supplier Corrective Action
Reports, as needed
- Performing work activities that are in line with achieving the company’s Quality Objectives
