The Crafts Artisan/Technician will support the Films Costume Designer, Assistant Costume Designer, and Draper in the preparation and construction of costume crafts for Sight & Sound Films productions. **This is a short term employment opportunity, expected to last 6 - 8 months.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboration, build, fit, and alteration of all craft pieces, designed or purchased, as directed by the assistant Costume Designer and Draper.
- Proven record of millinery and leather working skills, including distressing of shoes and boots, are required.
- Work to achieve costume build timeline goals within budgetary requirements.
- The ability to work quickly and expertly under the time constraints of a film shoot.
- All other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites:
- Demonstrated proficiency in construction techniques for the creation of craft mockups and final products.
- Proven expert knowledge and experience in creating a variety of costume crafts in historic time periods and construction techniques, with the ability to guide or instruct other team members.
- Excellence in collaboration, communication, and crafts construction problem solving.
