Summary

Kean University Theatre Conservatory is seeking a full-time lecturer (10 month), starting Fall 2024, to teach and participate as a designer and/or mentor to student designers and technicians for the 4-show production season.

Participation in developing curriculum, recruiting, committee work, planning and assessment, academic advising, student design or technology mentorship and portfolio development is required. The Lecturer will be working with undergraduate lab students on a daily basis in a hands-on production environment to implement stage designs.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Theatre Design and Technology or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. MFA and evidence of professional work is preferred.

Areas of expertise should include two or more of the following: lighting design and technology, sound design, video and projection design, and stage or production management.
