Summary

The program in Theater Arts at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, located in Cambridge Massachusetts, invites applicants to expand its pool of Lecturers.
When open, positions may be for the academic year, for single semesters, and/or ongoing. Start dates generally in the Spring or Fall Semesters. Program offers supportive mentorship, and an exceptional environment for active educators, practitioners and/ or scholars with a commitment to exploring their work in a progressive, inclusive, welcoming culture. Areas of expertise might include Acting, Responsive Performance Technologies, Social Practices, Physical Theater, Hip-Hop, Voice, Contemporary Dance, Design, Performance Media, Dramaturgy, Theater & Performance Studies, and/or Dramatic Writing. The cover letter should include teaching and educational plans, and any additional information you wish to provide about mentoring and/or service. One of the references should speak to your teaching experience and/or potential. Requirements

MFA, PhD, and/or equivalent professional experience required. Minimum of two years experience teaching in university or conservatory environments, and/or extensive instructional experience in alternative settings. The program in Theater Arts is as committed to new works as to new ways of working. Artist-educators are supported in bringing culture-conscious, collaborative, and flexible approaches to fostering inclusive classroom, production, and studio environments. Candidates with current contemporary practices and fluency in multiple traditions, techniques, social practices, and/or alternative dramaturgies are especially sought. Working hours may include evenings or weekends.
