Primary Responsibilities
Essential Functions include (but are not limited to):
● Collaborate with Designers and the Artistic teams for each production to realize their vision
● Ensure designers have accurate technical information necessary such as the cost and feasibility of each video design, and negotiate modifications
● Under the supervision of the Head Electrician organize & execute load-ins, changeovers, focus calls, strikes, tech, notes calls and maintenance calls for video and projection needs for all MSMT productions
● Show preparation which includes preparing required equipment, organization of color, templates, and other consumables as well as the wiring of practicals and effects
● Maintain and safeguard Video Wall System, video, and projections needs for MSMT
● Involvement as a show electrician (Followspot Operator, Deck Electrician, or Video Technician) as productions require
● Create a rotating schedule for electrics staff, per production, with the programing and running of the light console, followspot operator, deck electrician, and/or video technician for all technical, dress and brush-up rehearsals, note sessions, and performances
● Attend/assist with all run-throughs, backstage prep, all technical rehearsals, performances, load ins,
and strikes as scheduled
● Program and run the video and projection playback system for all technical, dress and brush-up rehearsals, note sessions, and performances as assigned by the Head Electrician
● Perform daily checks to maintain the Video Design during the run of the show- correcting any focus problems, changing lamps as needed
● Run all phases of installation, and programming
● Oversee the execution of video/projection, hang, and focus under the supervision of the Head Electrician
● Coordinate with other departments regarding safety, and location of video/projection equipment and effects
● Ensure workplace safety practices
● Negotiate and manage equipment rental and purchasing.
● Attend all production meetings
● Participate in MSMT events as needed and/or required
● Adhere to the MSMT Risk Assessment/Infection Control Policy, Safety protocols and all other applicable MSMT policies & procedures
● Drive MSMT vehicles
● Motivate with a positive and respectful attitude
● Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful working environment
● Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Production and MSMT Annual Staff

Requirements

Qualifications
The following skills and experience are required:
• Superior knowledge and experience with ETC Eos Consoles and accessories
• Experience with programming, rigging, hazers, foggers, theatrical effects, LED tape, intelligent lighting fixtures, practicals, and standard theatrical practices
• Expert knowledge of theatrical video design, technology, process, and practice, including applicable electrical standards and codes.
• Aptitude for creative technical and artistic problem solving
• Seasoned with Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, video production and playback software including QLab
• Able to manage teams and foster both team, and individual growth among employees
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and communication skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment
• Able to work independently and as a team player
• Detail oriented; able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task
• Driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Car preferred but not required
