WeberSCENIC, an event production company and scenic studio in the Sarasota FL area, seeks a Scene Shop / Carpentry Lead to join our growing team! We seek experience in technical theatre, with knowledge of skill and materials for scenic carpentry, experience with Autocad and/or other CAD programs (a plus), technical and fabrications skills, including carpentry, and knowledge of lighting a plus. This position is perfect for the young technical theatre professional looking to get started with a growing professional company and established scenic studio.

Scene Shop
1. Participate in the technical design, engineering, and construction of all scenery.
2. Assist with technical drawings as needed.
3. Build and paint props and scenery as part of the scene shop team.
4. Possess creative skills including the ability to take shop drawings and execute the build independently, or with minimal oversight from the technical director / designer.
Leadership
1. Lead by example and ensure compliance with all safety standards and standard operating procedures.
2 Assist with efficient event inventory scheduling to include both materials and staff
3. Maintain effective communication with designer, and managing director to ensure smooth development and installation of events and scenic designs.
4. Assist in managing the organization and maintenance of scenery stock and equipment.
