What You Will Do

The Technical Direction Team is responsible to facilitate the integration of all design disciplines that help to tell the stories of our live show offerings including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property.

We are looking for an experienced individual with an innovative mind-set and a passion for Disney quality and Magical creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all design & technical materials.

  • Supporting the Technical Director in the technical production process, including producing documentation, technical intent, and drawing packages

  • Surveying on site locations for appropriate technical integration

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams including designers, safety teams, and facility teams

  • Contributing to technical documentation packages including scope of work, deliverables matrix, etc.

  • Assisting with design and technical research

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • A working knowledge of the performing arts industry

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines

  • Strong leadership and partnering skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and confidential information

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and Adobe (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Familiarity or work knowledge with additional drafting programs such as Vectorworks, and Revit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earning or completing MFA in a technical design-related field

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Fabrication skills

Education

  • Junior or Senior, graduate student, or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Program

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

  • Current valid U.S. driver’s license required; Operating a company vehicle may be part of this role

  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines

  • Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week; possible nights and weekends) for the duration of the internship

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this 6-month internship are June 2024 through January 2025

  • This internship is located in Anaheim, CA; candidates must be receptive to providing their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship
