TECHNICAL DIRECTOR - UC Santa Barbara Department of Theater and Dance
Oversees all technical elements (except costumes) related to department's season of theater and dance productions. Acts as liaison between designers and shops to ensure all designs are translated and executed properly. Creates working drawings from designer drawings for use in shops. Facilitates technical set-up, operation, and coordination of personnel. Responsible for student employees, run crews, production supervisors and Technical Teaching Assistants. Oversees technical budgets and schedules. Oversees safety in all technical areas. Assists with the coordination of Theater and Dance facility maintenance. Fingerprint background check required. Some evenings, weekends, holidays. Salary range: $29.55 - $32.63/hr. Requirements: BA in technical theater related major or equivalent. Two years practical technical theater experience that demonstrates leadership ability. Demonstrated knowledge of theater operations, including budgeting, scheduling, scenic construction, rigging, lighting and sound. Working computer knowledge.
