The Department of Theatre and Dance invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenurable, Coordinator faculty position (#136140) at the rank of Instructor. This annual contract may be continued based upon a positive annual evaluation/recommendation. Start date is August 1, 2024.
This position typically teaches three 3-credit courses each term, such as Introduction to Production Practices, Production Practices Lab, and Introduction to Theatre. In addition, six (6) credits of non-instructional assignment per semester are typically provided to serve as Technical Director (overseeing scenery construction) for theatre productions each fall and spring term.
A master’s degree in Theatre or a field closely related field. A bachelor’s degree with at least ten (10) years of directly related industry experience in technical direction may stand in lieu of the master’s degree.
Applicants with university teaching and/or professional experience in technical direction may receive special consideration.
