Jana Funderburk - Professor of Costume at Millikin University

Jana Henry Funderburk (she/her) is Professor of Costume at Millikin University. She has served USITT as Vice-Commissioner of Programming for the Costume Commission, Co-Chair of Tech Olympics, on the eSET Committee, and is currently on the board of the Midwest Section. Jana designs regionally when schedules allow and is currently deep in learning about fiber and textile history. Her 2018 sabbatical was focused on integrating technology into costume build processes, and she’s thrilled to share some of that knowledge in this summer symposium.

Alyssa Ridder is a costume designer for theatre and digital media based out of Denver, CO. She received her MFA in costume design from The Pennsylvania State University and proudly serves as the Lecturer of Costume Design & Technology at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Alyssa’s passion for design is in reviving older works in dramaturgically exciting ways and is an advocate for ethical design practice. She is a leading industry professional in integrating costume technology with 3D garment simulation for a more sustainable theatrical workflow and leads workshops in CLO3D across the United States. www.alyssaridder.com

Tyler Phillips - Theatrical Tailor and Draper

Tyler Phillips is a theatrical tailor and draper currently pursuing his MFA in costume production at the Pennsylvania State University. Originally from Indiana Tyler relocated to Chicago, Illinois after receiving his BA in Design and Technology from Ball State University. Prior to continuing his education he worked on wardrobe crews and as a free lance stitcher around Chicago.  Notable theaters include: Chicago Shakespeare Theater (where he was a staff dresser), Lookingglass Theatre Company, and Emerald City Theatre.

Meghan currently is the Full time Lecturer in Costume Technology at Tufts University in Boston, MA. Besides draping and teaching, Meghan is driven to learn and teach how modern computer technology and software can help theater artists. Meghan has worked in many theaters across the nation including Utah Shakespeare Festival (Draper), Northern Stage (Draper/Tailor), Tuacahn Arts (Draper), Alabama Repertory Dance Theater (Draper), Millikin University Theater, (Shop Manager/Draper) and the Weathervane Theater (Shop Manger/Wardrobe Supervisor).
